In a groundbreaking collaborative effort, PhotonicsNL has joined forces with Optics Netherlands, PhotonDelta, the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency to unveil the highly anticipated Photonics Roadmap 2023. The updated Roadmap Photonics, which was presented to Jeroen Heijs, deputy director of the Innovation and Knowledge Directorate, during the DutchPhotonicsEvent, is a significant step forward for the Photonics industry in the Netherlands and beyond. The Roadmap Photonics outlines a strategic vision for developing and advancing Photonics technology in the coming years. Photonics, the science and technology of generating, controlling, and detecting photons, has gained immense importance in a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, healthcare, and manufacturing. The Photonics Roadmap 2023 aims to chart a clear course for this field’s continued growth and innovation. The collaborative effort underscores the commitment of PhotonicsNL, Optics Netherlands, PhotonDelta, NWO, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and a very dedicated writing team from the Dutch Photonics industry, to foster a thriving Photonics ecosystem in the Netherlands. Launching the Photonics Roadmap 2023 is a significant milestone, setting a clear direction for the future of Photonics in the Netherlands. Working together, will accelerate the adoption of Photonics technology and drive economic growth and innovation nationally and in the region.
